L'histoire de la gravure date de la première fois une personne a imprimé sa main sans sa cave.
Pendant la renaissance Albrecht Durer a produit des bois gravés et des gravures sublimes. A Amsterdam pendant la dix-septième siècle, Rembrandt a trouvé un niveau de sensibilité inattendue avant. J'ai eu la chance de voir l'exposition fabuleux de son travail au Rijksmuseum en 2019. Dans la vingtième siècle Picasso était très prolifique dans la gravure quand il s'est installé pour le plupart de son temps dans le sud de la France il a fait venir de Paris son technician préféré avec une grande presse. Cette presse est toujours utilisé par les artistes de L'Atelier du Safranier à Antibes où j'ai fait de la gravure et étudié des techniques de la gravure pendant quelques années.

A Story of Plates
The story of printmaking goes back to the first time a handprint was made on the wallow a cave. Since then, artists have refined techniques and learnt from others. In the renaissance Albrecht Dürer produced sublime woodcuts and engravings. In 17th century Amsterdam, Rembrandt achieved a new level of sensitivity and delicacy in etching. I was fortunate to see the wonderful exhibition of his work at the Rijksmuseum in 2019. in the 20th century, Picasso was a prolific printmaker and when he settled almost full time in the south of France, he had his favourite technician move down with a press from Paris. This press is still in daily use by the artists at the Atelier du Safranier in Antibes where I have been printmaking and studying techniques for the last few years.
Contemporary and Experimental Plates
Collagraphy techniques offer infinite diversity and possibilities for experimentation in contemporary printmaking. These plates are made using natural and found materials and sculpting into the surfaces.
